“Thirsty? Have a Drink”

Rev. Kevin Murphy

Preparation Scriptures: Exodus 17: 1-7, Psalm 95, John 4: 1-42

Still water becomes stagnant and foul, but flowing water dancing in the sunlight becomes precious and life giving. We witness rapids, waterfalls, and tides possessing great overflowing power. Water is essential to life itself as we compare the lush green rain forests to dry arid wastelands. This sermon compares this to the experience and life giving power of Jesus in our lives. No matter what our thirst, it can be quenched permanently to overflowing by his love. And we become part of this flowing life giving power, dancing in the sunlight, bringing joy and spreading his thirst quenching love to others.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
have mercy on me, a sinner.
