Rev. Kevin Murphy
Preparation Scriptures: Genesis 12: 1-4, Psalm 121, and John 3: 1-17
Sometimes we may wear Rose Colored Glasses and all is right with the world. Or we may wear 3-D glasses for an illusion of depth. Kevin, in this sermon, teaches us that our viewpoint of life may also be an illusion based upon a sheltered background in our own little corner of the world.
Life can be a jungle where it's a struggle just to manage to survive. Some compete to become the fittest; even becoming well organized so as to take advantage of the weak for their own benefit. When order is established in a society, progress can then take place. The question is, should order be imposed by force or embraced by choice?
Jesus came not to condemn the world, but to save it. Did he not teach us the advantages of cooperation and love over struggles motivated by greed and a desire for more power? How much better our world would be if everyone embraced this truth and all our energy could be used to benefit mankind rather than isolate and protect individual interests. Perhaps Jesus meant this when he said, “the Kingdom of God is within you”. Listen for the word of God as Kevin speaks live... Click the following:
