"JUSTICE"

Rev. Kevin Murphy
Guest: Barbara Condo

After 30+ years of rigged elections, the current disturbing events in Egypt reminds us that...
"Peace cannot come without Justice".
In this sermon, Kevin encourages us to set right the things that are wrong. Our Guest, Barbara Condo delivered a very moving account of serving this mission with the many children passing through One Way Farm.

We all have many opportunities in life to set things right that are wrong. As individuals we give and receive this support as a family. As a community we guarantee this support by insuring Justice. As a community we can also help in this effort by allowing God to continue working through efforts like One Way Farm.

"Change in the Wind"

Rev. Kevin Murphy
JANUARY 23, 2011

Preparation Scriptures: Isaiah 9: 1-4, 1st Corinthians 1: 10-18, and Matthew 4: 12-23

"Come, FOLLOW me," Jesus said,
"and I will make you FISHERS OF MEN."

This was the command that Jesus gave to his disciples who were occupied with their role as providers for themselves, their families and community. Jesus had a much more important role for them that would impact mankind far into the future.

Kevin brings life to this story while making us aware of our role as FISHERS OF MEN as we participate daily in our community.

"Yours are the Hands to Bless"

Rev. Kevin Murphy

Preparation Scripture: Isaiah 49: 1-7, 1 Corinthians 1: 1-9, John 1: 29-42

In this sermon, Kevin explains that as Jesus became Baptised by John, he became anointed to represent God as the Lamb who came to take away the sins of the World.

As we become Baptised, we become anointed to make every effort to be like Jesus. Although we can never be the Messiah, we are his followers... anointed to be his heart and his hands... to carry on his Mission and Blessing.

"Bruised Reeds and Low Burning Wicks"

Rev. Kevin Murphy

Preparation Scriptures: Isaiah 42: 1-9, Acts 10: 34-43, Matthew 3: 13-17

Water was essential to our birth and life itself. How appropriate that it be an important part of our rebirth by Baptism. As Kevin delivers this sermon, he reflects on Baptism as "the annointing of God's Holy Spirit" for the purpose of seeking righteousness. Allow God to work by our caring for the bruised and desperate through his amazing power.
